Dear Jennifer,
There are some updates on the information that you have. Wendel Fetter was Philip's father.
Wendel and Philip both settled in Montgomery County PA. A Montgomery County tax record shows this. Wendel and his wife Elisabeth are buried side by side in the Wentz's Church cemetery.
In 1762-3 Wendel was one of the carpenter's who helped build the Wentz's Reformed Church building.
I have several other important pieces of the puzzle.
Philip is a bit more difficult. The ships record for 1744 on the Muscliffe Galley does not state how old Philip was, but in order for a man to be on the ship's list he had to be age 21 or older. So most of the thinking people lean towards the 1751 date that Floyd mentions in his "Northumberland County Genealogical and Biographical Annuals". Wendel and Philip were born in the Rhinpfalz area of Germany. To date no one has been able to find the town or village in Germany where they came from. Do you know?
There are still some pieces of this thousand piece puzzle that are missing. Records are very scarce from the early 1700's in Pennsylvania.
Some records have been lost. But, there is still hope. And there are only three or four clues.
Good luck on your search.
