The trip we took to England was a retracing of a trip Great Aunt Mary took a few years earlier. If my recollection is correct, we saw a white house called Woodbine Cottage where my grandfather and at least some of his siblings were born. We also saw a small church that had the name "William Critoph" amonst others chiseled into the cornerstone. We met a man named Percy ? who was fairly senile at the time. His wife remembered Aunt Mary coming through. Percy is a relation of some sort. There was a one room schoolhouse, which I guess Grandfather William attended. We also saw a general store where he worked as a young man. There was also a church that had been turned into a pig farm of all things. The cockney farm who had at least 3 teeth, also remembered Mary and was more than glad to show us around. One of our ancestors had been a minister to this church. He, his wife and 3 small children were buried in the adjoining graveyard which now accommodates the farmer's chickens. The chickens seem to enjoy roosting on the headstones of our family. The church had been gutted of all the normal items found in a church and was the storage area for the farmer's equipment and the biggest pig I ever saw in my life.
There are a few more things I can tell you that you will at least find amusing, but I have to run now. I will correspond again.
