Hi Larry - were you and Tracy able to start emailing and exchanging information? I was doing a lot of research on the Johnston's because I was trying to find out more about your grandfather, James Steptoe Johnston. I sent the research and information I was able to find on Virginia's prominent families to Tracy.

Would you be interested in exchanging some information with me about your grandfather? I'm assuming he is the James Steptoe Johnston (Jr.?)who was the son of the James Steptoe Johnston (your great-grandfather?) born in Virginia in about 1808 or 1810? That James Steptoe Johnston was in turn the son of Charles Johnston, who married Elizabeth Prentiss Steptoe.
