I am writing in regard to your query about James Gubby, convict, sent to Australia in 1817.

I have been researching a convict, Thomas Morgan. I found that he married a Jane Lang in 1820. Two Jane Langs were transported to Australia together (they are referred to as Snr and Jnr - mother and daughter). The second Jane Lang married James Gubby on 23 November 1818.

One Jane is referred to as Lang/Morrison, the other as Lang/Atcheson. (Either aliases or their name from a previous marriage.)
