I would very much appreciate this information as well. My great-great grandfather is Calvin Johnston, b. 1822. That is as far back as I know. But we have a picture of him and he looks to Native American. That mathces some of the information further down in this thread. Also it is our family tradition that we are related to a civil war general who was a grand nephew of Patrick Henry.

I would be excited to know if your information can shed any further light on this. Sadly I do not likely have iny information that would be of help to you... I don't know much beyond what I have stated here!
