Hi Laurie

Great name you have ...lol. Anyway I can tell you what I know of where the Sampson name originated. As far as I know it comes from the franch name samson. My family came to canada from france in the 1700 and settled in Nova Scotia. I don't know what you know about cdn history but the french were called acadians and where expelled by an english governor to louisiana in the states most adopted english names to either return to canada or to stay. My family is acadian and chose to stay, the name was anglicized and became sampson. How sampson got to barbados is anybody's guess but there was a lot of trade between the colonies way back in the 1700 & 1800 I would be interested to hear

Laurie
