At least you had good sense not to use capital letters when you replied to my original message for your user ID name. I certainly hope someone monitors this page.
However, if you have information to either correct or add to what I posted, please do so.
I do guess that I misspoke in my first post. Jacob and Sarah Snyder had three children, not four. I just got my numbers wrong.
There is documentation for the following:
Solomon Snyder was born in PA in 1810. Married Elizabeth Welty on April 22, 1828 in Salem Twp. Ohio by JOP John Colvin.
Solomon farmed and owned land in Highland Co Ohio. He paid property taxes in Highland Co from 1834-1847 and then from 1848-1849 in Dodson Twp. 1850-51 in Salem Twp, Ohio. He moved his family to Indiana in 1852. All of their children were born in OH.
The information I have on their children is as follows: Christina (Tena), b. 1825, married Wm. Glass in 1858, then married Joseph Jarvis in 1864. Sarah (Sally) b. 1830. Ann b. 1832, Elizabeth b. 1838. Jseophine b. 1845 (1850 census shows a Josephus Snyder age 5, it's either Josephine or a twin to Josephine.
There's possibly seven sons born to this union, but the only information I have is on one son, Jacob VanBuren Snyder. Jacob was born March 14, 1851. Legend has it that the other brothers were killed in the Civil war.
Jacob's first wife was Sarah Philina Jane Hibler. She was born May 8, 1961 and died April 23, 1881. Their children were Elmay Francis Snyder b. Aug. 28, 1875 in Wabash, IN. Nancy Catherine Snyder b. Feb. 22, 1878 and James Elwin Snyder b. May 2, 1880.
Jacob's second wife, Lyda Francis Gamble was a cousin to Sarah's mother, Frances Ann Gamble.
Jacob and Lyda (Lydia) had four children, Guy Earl Snyder, Carl Nelson Snyder, John V. Snyder, and Dora Snyder. From an earlier relationship (marriage?) Lydia had a daughter, Gertrude Gamble. Don't know if she was married prior to being married to Jacob.
My gr. grandmother Elmay Snyder Campbell, Ketchum, Rittenhouse is my connection to The Gamble, Hibler, Snyder lines.
